At Gordian Rugs we are able to create your rugs with an entirely customized texture. You can choose your pile depth from 3mm to 18mm or more if needed. Pile height does affect the weight and cost of the rug. Because the taller piles use more material, they will be slightly more expensive.

A thicker pile will create a softer rug with a luxurious feel. Knot density varies with the thickness of the pile. At 3mm we use a knot density of 150 to 300 knots, while rugs with a pile thickness of 10 mm or more work best with a 60 knot count. We also can incorporate different pile heights into the same rug to give a remarkable 3D effect.
